Pre-Employment Assessments are a key component of a successful employee selection process by matching the right employee to the right job. This can reduce time lost due to injuries and workers compensation costs.
Northern Rehabilitation Management (NRM) can develop a pre-employment assessment in line with the physical requirements of a worker's role. This would ideally involve a worksite assessment however generic assessment criteria can also be used if requested.
A Pre- Employment assessment:
Reviews past history and medical reports
Examines flexibility, posture and strength
Explores activity tolerances such as bending, squatting, kneeling and stooping
Tests ability to perform the physical requirements of the job e.g. lifting techniques and capacity
The pre-employment assessment will help establish the employee’s ability to perform and complete the physical demands of the job including a risk rating and recommendations of any required intervention
If the employee can perform physical duties with a moderate risk assessed, recommendations of any required intervention will be provided to maximize the employee and job match
