Pre-Employment Screening

Pre-Employment Assessments are a key component of a successful employee selection process by matching the right employee to the right job.  This can reduce time lost due to injuries and workers compensation costs.

  • Northern Rehabilitation Management (NRM) can develop a pre-employment assessment in line with the physical requirements of a worker's role. This would ideally involve a worksite assessment however generic assessment criteria can also be used if requested.
  • A Pre- Employment assessment:

    • Reviews past history and medical reports
    • Examines flexibility, posture and strength
    • Explores activity tolerances such as bending, squatting, kneeling and stooping
    • Tests ability to perform the physical requirements of the job e.g. lifting techniques and capacity

  • The pre-employment assessment will help establish the employee’s ability to perform and complete the physical demands of the job including a risk rating and recommendations of any required intervention

  • If the employee can perform physical duties with a moderate risk assessed, recommendations of any required intervention will be provided to maximize the employee and job match
